About Me

Hey everyone, thanks for coming by and checking out my latest work here on my new blog. I've had so much fun over the last year blog stalking everyone else - I figured it's about time to launch a blog of my own where I can share my latest photos and life's journey. So here we go into 2010, the year of the blog! Who knows...maybe I too will pick up a blog stalker along the way.

Bit about me... I have been shooting photography for over 12 years, but it wasn't till 2 years ago that I realized people would actually pay me to take photos of them. Eureka! My life hasn't been the same since. I feel like the luckiest guy, with a job that is the best, working side by side with my beautiful wife Shirley, and producing images for clients that they can cherish throughout their life.

I love shooting in natural light - finding the 'moments' just before sunset or at sunrise. I love weddings. I'm all about capturing every aspect of the wedding and while I enjoy shooting in a photo journalistic style my FAVORITE is to work with the Bride and Groom alone, helping them get comfortable in front of the camera so I can capture the true love and passion between the couple. My pure enjoyment is taking photos that are meaningful, with a style a little bit different and in the end hopefully timeless. Engagement Session: Scott + Jessie

I met Scott and Jessie last week and immediately hit it off with them. What a fun couple! Not only are these two amazing looking, but they fit each other perfectly! I am looking forward to working with these two on their bridals, wedding photos and even a “Rock the Dress” session after their wedding. I am positive that not only will we create some incredible images together, but we will also be sharing a ton of laughs. Thanks Scott and Jessie for the great time tonight shooting your engagement photos. Enjoy the sneak peak!

Friday Favorites – Vendors I Love!!!

Starting a new feature on my blog today called “Friday’s Favorites!” Each Friday I am going to feature one wedding vendor that I absolutely love working with and is a true professional in every sense of the word.

This week to start it off I want to introduce all my brides to a store that I am sure you’ll all love… Twirl Boutique! This store was designed with bridesmaids in mind with lots of different colors and styles of dresses so that your bridal party looks amazing on your wedding day. In addition to bridal-party dresses they also have beautiful designer wedding dresses at incredible prices. Looking for the perfect dress for the Flower Girl? (Yep they have them!). Lots of other gifts and accessories as well. Twirl’s popularity continues to increase and they now have 5 stores around the country. The store’s owners Keri and Jenni are about the sweetest ever…. stop in and say “Hi!” – you won’t be disappointed.

What made you want to go into your line of work? We had been bridesmaids so many times, and were tired of wearing hideous dresses. We wanted to build a shop where brides could find hip, modern dresses for their wedding party.

Who is your role model or mentor? After being business partners for over 6 years now, we have truly become each others’ mentors and role models. We have different personalities and strengths, and we have learned to lean on each other and look to each other for advice, support, and creative ideas.

People may be surprised to know… Keri has just been asked to be in wedding #12. We have started writing a book together. Jenni’s husband came up with the name “Twirl.” We have five stores now around the country.

How do you spend your spare time? Playing with Twirl babies! Keri has a 16-month old little girl and Jenni has a brand new baby girl.

Tell us a little more about yourself… (indulgences, favorite music, family life..)? Wine is our indulgence – and trash television! Jenni grew up in AZ, and Keri grew up in Washington state.

Model Shoot: Downtown Tucson

Yesterday I woke up in the morning excited for a full day ahead on the road down to Tucson, AZ. In addition to lunch with a friend (as well as amazing dance photographer) Ed Flores – I was looking forward to a session with strikingly beautiful 6’0″ model Katie Palmer – who is signed with the Ford Modeling agency and has such a bright future ahead. Here are some photos from our session, while hanging out in Downtown Tucson. Be on the look out for this girl – she is going places!!!

Family Photo Sessions

Holiday season is fast approaching, so it’s time to schedule your family photo sessions. This year a lot of my weekends are booked with weddings during the month of September and October, so if you are interested in doing a session the best times for me are on weekdays or early Saturday mornings.

Sessions last 1.5 hrs. and you’ll receive a disc of your images edited in high resolution (approx. 100 images). I tell families to bring two changes of clothing if they would like to create two different looks during the session. This year I am limiting the number of sessions to just 10 at the discount rate of just $250. If you are interested in booking a session, please click the “BUY NOW” button below to process your payment. I will be in touch with you to schedule a session within 24 hours. We can also start discussing locations as well as theme ideas if you would like to do a theme shoot.

If you have a very limited schedule during Sept & October but are interested in booking a date with me, feel free to email me using the contact form above to inquire with me regarding the dates you have open. I’d be happy to check my calendar first with the dates you have open. If after paying for your session you are unable to make it, I am happy to grant the refund to you (typically takes about 3 days to credit to your account). Please let me know at least a week ahead of time if you cannot make it so I can open the date for someone else. Let’s have fun and create some amazing images together!

Wedding: Sandeep & Bal

On Saturday, I had the tremendous privilege of working with Sandeep and Bal on the celebration of their wedding. They actually tied the knot the week before in a civil ceremony and then with a religious blessing at their temple – but on Saturday is when they had all the family in town to celebrate with them! Wow was it ever a party! In addition, Bal and Sandeep had the most amazing friends and family – some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. It was a huge honor to work with all of them! I hope you enjoy the sneak peak at their wedding celebration.
